Ek het nou al die afgelope ruk wat ek woonagtig is in Korea, die geleentheid gehad om saam my mede koreaanse kollegas die nag lewe van Korea te ervaar. Noodloos om te se dis ‘n definitiewe ervaring inderdaad.
Ek het so bietjie navorsing op die internet gaan doen om te kon vastel watter tipe instansies hier is om mense in die aande mee besig te hou, en dit het my nie rerig geskok nie, maar was nogsteeds interesant om van die dinge raak te lees. Van plekke wat jy verby loop en nie eers weet wat daar aangaan nie.

Ek het sondagoggend, baie vroeg Tv gesit en kyk en hulle het n dokumenter gehad oor prostitusie in die geweste, veral Korea en die Fillipyne. En dit was rerig baie hartseer om die statistieke te moes sien. Dit het my wakker gehou vir die res van die maandag oggend tot ek moes werk toe. Ek het nog verder navorsing gedoen oor die hele nag lewe van die ’skrefie oog” mense. Ek het op die website/blog afgekom wat die hele geskiedenis verduidelik van prostitusie veral in Korea. Dit het ontwikkel met die tweede wereld oorlog waar Japan die Koreaanse vrouens  gedwing het in prostitusie en toe vervang die amerikaners die japanese. My opinie bly nogsteeds dat ek nie veel hare op my tande het vir Amerikaners nie. Dis grotendeels te danke aan hulle dat so allerdaags geword het. As aanvaarbaar gesien kan word. Daar is tot vandag toe nog afgeskorte kampe waar die soldate na diens kan gaan stoom afblaas, en dit is streng uitnoding aalleenlik, as jy nie uniform dra nie kan jy nie ingaan nie. Maar die vrouens kan ingaan om te gaan werk. Dis nie meer soos dit in die tyd van die Koreaanse oorlog was nie, maar inteendeel, vandag het mense ook so slim geraak en dit meer aanvaarbaar gemaak vir die samelewing, naamlik norebangs (singing rooms). Maar hier kon nou die ding, mens kry soveel verskillende aspekte hiervan en daar is wel norebangs wat jy net kan gaan om te sing en die aand kan geniet sonder om balhorig te hoef te raak.

Ek het n lysie van verskillende plekke waarna toe mens kan gaan om jouself te kan geniet. (waarskuwing nie almal is so onskulding soos wat dit mag lyk nie) Dis ook ongelukkig in engels, ek het nie die krag om al die te vertaal nie.
 

Adult PC bangs, otherwise known as:

The customer usually pays by the hour, enters the room and waits for the phone to ring. A woman calls and they chat and there is always the possibility of meeting the woman later. One statistic from a Donga Ilbo report cited that 57% of the contacts have sex within four hours.

 

안마 (anma, 按摩) is an upscale massage parlor normally offering illicit services. The anma signs can usually be seen ablaze throughout the night sky, often at the tops of buildings with the windows covered.

A typical upscale anma usually will include all or some of the following:

• After paying, you will be escorted by hand to the sauna, which will house lockers and have the amenities of a typical mogyoktang.
• Then, you are led to your own private, lounging room, where you can rest on ondol floors while watching TV. The rooms will have free cigarettes, plus a mini-fridge with water and juice.
• You then might expect a blind masseuse to visit your room and give you a thorough massage for 30-45 minutes. Blind masseuses are noted for their heightened sense of touch and feeling in their hands, as a result of their lack of visual sense.
• You will then be escorted to another private bath and massage room, where you will be bathed by a new masseuse.
• Eventually, you will then receive a nude bodyrub from the nude masseuse. Everything else from that point on would be considered ‘full-service‘.
• You will later be escorted back to your original private room. Depending on the time of night and how busy they are, you might be allowed to sleep the rest of the night there. ie., if you get back to your room by 4-5am, chances are they will let you sleep the rest of the night, as business is winding down. They will often serve free ramyeon, if asked.

Costs

Anmas can be found in the form of upscale barbershops, which can be found for as cheap as 100,000won. But traditional anmas with full amenities and private resting rooms usually cost between 170-200,000won.

Culture notes

Many anmas will refuse foreigners, unless you are going with a Korean friend.

 

In Korea, one can rarely go down a major street without seeing the candy-strip barbershop poles spinning. But these are often not for haircut and shave. Often you will see huge poles spinning or several around one location. Basically, if you see these really standing out like this, or glowing away in the middle of the night, or basically in front of any establishment that does not overtly look like a Blue Club, then it usually can mean only one other thing.

Barbershops for hair are usually written as miyongsil (미용실). The risque versions are often referred to as (ilbalso) 이발소 or (iyongsil) 이용실. Both terms traditionally used to refer to places to get your hair cut, but frequently used to denote a front for the massage parlor version.

In these kinds of massage parlors, you can often expect some variations from one place to the next. But on average, you are taken to a massage table and a woman (usually aged from 30s-50s) will begin to wash your feet in a sink at the edge of the table. After, she begins massaging you (not as thoroughly as some trained masseuses, but loosens you up a little). Sometimes, hot towels are then piled all over your body. After this usually follows some form of sexual activity. If they charged you 70K or less at the outset, it will likely only be handplay. Some places only leave it at that. Anything 80 or higher is usually full-service and after the massage, you’ll be led to a backroom with a new massage table and shower, and you’ll receive a nude body massage and full service.

You’re then led back to your original massage table, given an obligatory Vita 500 and are ready to leave. Depending on the place, you may be allowed to doze there for a bit, before leaving.

 

Room salons, Business Clubs, Villages of Widows, Missy Clubs, Room business [clubs] … are upscale noraebangs that have large couches, and a selection of girls for one to choose from for companionship, drinking games, dancing, strip teasing, lap dancing, and extras. They frequently also have karaoke equipment and/or an on-call small live band. Most places are staffed by Korean women, but Russian women are also known to be employed at some locations, for a premium.

Room salons are very popular places for Korean businessmen with corporate expense accounts to butter up clients or unwind as they down glass after glass of whiskey-in-beer boilermakers (Poktanju).

It usually involves buying 150-300,000+ won bottles of whiskey(which would normally retail for 30,000 won), plus paying tips for the hostesses and purchasing fruit platters, or other anju. The girls are employed to keep customers purchasing more and more, so they are expert at drinking, getting the customers to drink, dumping the alcohol in the ice bucket, dumping it on the floor, dumping it on the couch, etc. When the liquor dries up, so does the fun, so expect to buy several bottles, depending on the size of the party.

Girls will usually not have sex, unless an extra fee is paid to the house, which is called “second round” (2차). Second rounds can cost from about 200,000 won up and usually take place in a nearby hotel after the hostesses change clothes. A variation is the 북창동식 room salon, which ends with oral sex performed in the room as a group. Some hostesses refuse to go to the second round.

It’s not uncommon for a small group of businessmen to drop well over a million won for an average room salon experience without the second round.

It should be noted that these are not always for men. Host bars can be found, particularly in Gangnam, which cater to affluent Korean women looking for the same pampering from Korean men. Whether any prostitution actually transpires in there is anyone’s guess and is a sensitive cultural debate in itself.

Chuljang Massage(출장 마사지) means outcall massage services. Girls will come to your place, love motel, or hotel, and provide massage and full service.

If at a love motel, look on the ground outside of the door and you’ll see business cards of naked Japanese women. The agencies on these cards can often arrange these services.

 

Dabangs (다방, 茶房, tea.room) are tea and coffee shops. Most of them are just that. As an older word for ‘coffee shop’, one will sometimes hear older people refer to newer coffee shops, such as Starbucks and The Coffee Bean, as ‘dabangs’, and people will often jokingly refer to Starbucks as 별다방 (별 meaning ’star’). However, in smaller cities and towns, dabangs are known to be used for outcall ‘companionship’. Men would call the dabang and order coffee and a women would drive a car or a scooter and deliver a thermos of coffee and sit and accompany the customer. Sexual services are known to be negotiated.

It’s important to note that the majority of dabangs do not fit this image and are just your average traditional tea and coffee shop.

 

Daeddalbangs (대딸방) are massage parlors where you receive handplay from a nude or semi-nude college-aged girl. The name originates from the merging of 대 which is an abbreviation of 대학교(university) and 딸, which is an abbreviation of 딸딸, which itself is an onomatopeia and colloqualism for ‘masturbate’.

 

Gataek massage (가택 마사지) means ‘incall massage’, where you go to the masseuses home. Due to the crackdown many formerred light district professionals are getting one-room apartments in Nonhyeon-dong and Sinsa-dong and turning them into private massage parlors, secretly building up clientele through word-of-mouth. Their services usually cost around 100,000 won, which is more expensive than what they provided in the red-light districts (usually around 60,000 won).

uicy bars are the name given to bars that employ Korean, Russian, or Filipino girls, who will sit, drink, flirt, and frolick with you, as long as you keep buying them ‘juicy drinks’. Depending on the place and time of night, juicy drinks can cost between 10,000 to 20,000 won. The role of these juicy girls is to keep you happy, horny, and buying more drinks for the establishment. If you want to go further and take the girl into the back or to a motel, its possible, but the cost of that varies. Expect no less than 100K and you can hear stories of drunk guys getting hosed for over 300K.

The most popular areas to find juicy bars are around the army bases, such as Itaewon’s Hooker Hill, Songtan, Camp Walker andCamp Henry in Daegu. Dongducheon has a vibrant juicy bar scene outside of Camp Casey, but the MPs have really cracked down up there and regularly threaten to place certain bars off-limits for GIs, if they suspect prostitution is going on. And as Army is big business in small little TDC, the bars usually don’t mess around as much as they used to.

Texas Street across from Busan Station is a popular juicy district known for its Russian women.

 

Love motels are hotels that are frequented by lovers or cheating spouses; however, to the foreign traveller, you might not notice much of a difference between the average yeogwan and love motel. Many love motels will make themselves distinct, when you first walk by one, you’ll see a scattered bunch of calling cards in front of the entrance, with pictures of scantily-clad Japanese girls. You can call these numbers on the card and they will send a Korean escort to your room.

In mid to upper-scale love motel rooms, you can possibly expect to find anything from pink tinted lights, waterbed, mirrored ceilings, all the way to plasma screen TV, computer, and jacuzzi.

Cheap, no-frill love motels often go in the yeogwan range of 30-40,000 won/night, however, mid to upper scale can go as high as 100,000 won/night or more. Hourly rates and 휴식 are available.

 

A noraebang (노래방, song.room) is an area people pay to go to to sing songs in a private room. The concept is exactly the same as karaoke rooms in Japan and within the rooms is a phone where one can order food and drinks. Each room has a number of microphones and song books; one picks a song to sing by inputing the number.

Not all 노래방 machines are equal. There are two major manufacturers of 노래방 machines in Korea, 금영 ‘KumYoung’and TJ ‘TaiJin’. You can see the new songs for that week or month usually posted outside the entrace to 노래방s around the country. Some 노래방s have both machines, to cater for those who have a preference, but most will only have one of either. As a rule of thumb, TJ machines have a wider variety of popular Western songs available than 금영 machines.

It should be noted that noraebangs don’t provide prostitution, per se, but most can facilitate it. You may notice cars whizzing through streets at night, dropping off and picking up girls in front of the odd noraebang. That’s often because ’singing girls’ can be called up and order to your room for singing companionship. These girls are not necessarily prostitutes and many noraebangs may not appreciate any frolicking in their rooms, but arrangements with the girls have been known to be made.

Nache Chobap (나체초밥) is the Korean version of Nyotaimori (女体盛り, “female body presentation”), often referred to as “body sushi”, is the practice of eating sashimi or sushi from the body of a woman, typically nude. As a result of being served on a human body, the temperature of the sushi or sashimi comes closer to body temperature, which some may see as a downside or a benefit.

The practice is, in fact, not in any way common in Japan and generally associated with prostitution and mafia. Western media reporting of the phenomenon severely misrepresents this to the point that it is perceived in Japan as a European fad.

Even less common, but not unheard of, is the practice of using a male model for the same purpose, this would be called 男体盛り,nantaimori.

Ito Hirobumi, the first prime minister of Japan, was quite a lover of female beauty and is well known as having quite an interest in nyotaimori, to the point that his name is primarily associated with the practice. He is sometimes said to be the originator.

Procedures

Before becoming a living sushi plate, the woman is trained to lie down for hours without moving. She must also be able to withstand the prolonged exposure to the cold food. Her body hair, including pubic hair, would also be shaved.

Before service, the woman would take a bath using a special fragrance-free soap and then finish off with a splash of cold water to cool the body down somewhat for the sushi.

In some countries, in order to comply with sanitation laws, there must be a layer of plastic or other material between the sushi and the body of the woman or man.

Konklusie

Koreaanse besigheids mans doen hulle groot deals by hierdie plekke, hulle raak snot dronk saam die kliente en wys hulle hoe om n lekker tyd te he en die besigheid betaal die rekening, sonder om vra te vrae, want hulle weet die klient sa tevrede gehou word maak nie saak wat die koste is nie.

Ek was al by die busnisess room aka norebang saam my kollegas gewees, en ja dit was n ervaring, maar dis definitief nie iets wat ek weer sal doen nie. Die ander een wat ek ook al by was is die  Hosting bar konsep, dis n redelike klein kroeg konsep en natuurlik is die venters getint sodat mens nie binnekant kan sien nie. Daar is net vroulike bartenders wat jou bedien, en dan hou hulle jou geselskap vir die tydperk wat jy daar kuier, maar dit was vir my meer n hartseer situasie en ongemaklik om rede die mans die jong koreaanse meisies soos besitingings hanteer. Ek gaan nie eers in die hele storie in gaan nie, maak my van voor af die moerin.

 

Ek moet nogsteeds se na ek hierdie self gelees het is ek nie geskok nie maar hartseer vir die koreaanse nasie vir hoe hulle dinge doen en wat vir hulle aanvaarbaar gesien word.
